One last look at betting on Mayweather – McGregor
I have been a fan of boxing betting for many years. My grandfather introduced me to the ‘noble art’ and, although I am of a meek nature, the truth is that there are countless evenings that I have spent glued to the television and fighting against sleep while waiting for Chávez, Tyson, De la Hoya, Poli Díaz or Castillejo will jump into the ring. And I am going to do the same with the bets on Mayweather – McGregor on August 27. Of course, if you still have doubts about the possible winner, you cannot miss this opportunity to bet “for free”, since if you fail, it will be returned!
They were nights of pizza, pastries and strong emotions. I still remember those fleeting fights with Tyson, or Chávez’s agonizing victory over Taylor, or the shock I felt when I saw ‘The Garden Terror’ fell struck down by a certain ‘Buster’ Douglas who went to Japan as a victim, and left the Tokyo Dome as a legend after starring in the biggest upset in boxing history.
Anyway, that messes me up… there have been many fights that I have followed. Many and very important, but I have never known a fight that has attracted as much expectation as the Mayweather-McGregor that takes place in Las Vegas. Exorbitant prices to see the fight, both in situ and on television, continuous news in the press, controversy… and a range of market options that will allow us to bet on practically anything that comes to mind. So… why don’t we review the Mayweather-McGregor bets?
McGregor rebounds, so… opportunity to bet on Mayweather

With less than two weeks to go before the fight and after two analysis texts, the first thing we notice is that the odds have changed. McGregor seems to have gained options according to what the bookmakers say, although the American’s victory is now paid at 1.20… which encourages us to go for Mayweather, now that we can get more bang for our buck. Yes, I love strong emotions, but I already told you in the last Post: “when you go down the road and you see that all the cars you come across are going in the opposite direction, you must ask yourself if the one going in the opposite direction it’s you, and not the other drivers”. My grandfather, always in my memory.
And it is that, regardless of what the quotas say, and that Floyd has agreed to fight with 8-ounce gloves, his speed, his command of fencing and his quality, continue to make him superior
Opposite, a rival who in recent weeks has seen how his sparring has abandoned his training camp, a much more important problem than it seems, especially for a fighter who is not used to the rules of boxing. And beware, with the imminent fight in time, we have new surprise markets with which to take advantage of our bets on Mayweather – McGregor.
Bearing in mind that the 1.20 odds still seem excessively low to us, we are going to focus on the victory methods, and in that sense, we abound in what we have commented on previous occasions. Mayweather’s options will increase exponentially as the rounds go by, and if he manages to keep McGregor at bay in the first three or four rounds of the fight, it will be difficult for him to escape victory.
We are betting on a victory for the American, although we do not expect a quick KO, since it is very likely that Mayweather will fight defensively during the first rounds and, if Floyd wins between rounds 7 to 12, we will triple our investment, while his victory to points or by Technical Decision has a fee of 3.25, and for those who like strong emotions, if ‘Pretty Boy’ is knocked down, but wins the fight, we would take €10 per Euro wagered.
A tribute to Conor’s health?

First of all, here we are impartial, and despite the fact that Mayweather is objectively superior, we cannot forget that McGregor also has his weapons, and among them, a more than remarkable punch, so ruling out a victory for the Irishman would be underestimating the level of a fighter who has shown his potential with his fists.
In any case, Conor’s chances will diminish as the fight drags on.
Although the 4.50 that is offered for his victory is a more than important fee, as we put it, we are going to pay tribute to McGregor’s health. We put ourselves in the shoes of a fan of the UFC champion, and if McGregor wins in the first six rounds, the odds are 7.00, while if he wins in the first three rounds, we would multiply our bet by 10 .
Finally, for those who are content to see Mayweather kissing the canvas, and after the sun rises in Antequera and they take away our ‘bailao’, if McGregor knocks down the American at some point, the fee is 5.00. Now all that remains is to wait for the fight of the century. I can’t miss it… and you?
